Lightscape

The immersive Melbourne hit returns to transform Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne after dark with a reimagined trail and brand new installations. Surround yourself with the interactive Submergence as well as the beloved Winter Cathedral and Laser Garden at Fern Gully.

Enjoy delicious food at the welcome zone, along with tasty treats at The Terrace Food Hall.

Visitors to Lightscape make their way along a winding trail through Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne’s landscape, awash in artistic lighting design. Along the way, they’ll encounter large lighting sculptures, colourful lighting effects and an accompanying soundscape.

Memo Akten: Distributed Consciousness

Embrace the interconnectivity of everything with Memo Akten's multi-screen work exploring the merging of human and non-human consciousness – via the coded AI musings of octopus-like digital beings.

Originally beginning as an NFT collection on the ecologically friendly blockchain Tezos, Memo Akten's eight-channel video installation, Distributed Consciousness, features 256 unique images of octopus-like Tentacular Critters created with custom Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning coded by the artist.

Monopoly Dreams

Monopoly Dreams Melbourne is a fully immersive and interactive Monopoly experience, featuring games, challenges and the chance to win Monopoly Money.

Try your hand at cracking Mr. Monopoly's vault, explore the Water Works and Electric Company, make a grab for cash at the Bank, and take a Chance at interactive games. Just try your best to avoid Jail.

Walk through the fabled streets of Monopoly City and visit all the board game classics brought to life: fix the broken pipes, get the power pumping, and take a mugshot in the jail.

Pharaoh

Pharaoh is a landmark exhibition that celebrates three thousand years of ancient Egyptian art and culture. Through more than 500 works, including monumental sculpture, architecture, temple statuary, exquisite jewellery, papyri, coffins and a rich array of funerary objects, the exhibition unpacks the phenomenon of pharaoh, those all-powerful kings claiming a divine origin.

The exhibition comprises seven thematic sections that explore the pharaoh’s roles and duties, including as the high priest officiating in temples, the head of the country’s administration, the leader of the army and the head of the royal family.
